These are large adult hoops measured on the outside of the hoop. Stand the hoop in front of you and measure from the floor to the top of the hoop. The 38" hoop with a weight of 1.5 lbs, will take a bit more effort to maintain rotation but will give you a faster aerobic workout. Remember, you lose weight when you use oxygen, get your heart rate up, and burn calories. We have added a 40" 1.75 lb hoop that makes it easier to maintain rotation but doen't take up as much room as the regular size 42" hoop, and is a good alternative if you are unsure of what size is right for you. The 42" hoop has a natural weight of 2.0 lbs and since it is larger and heavier it is a easier to rotate and might be better for beginners, if you are 20 to 30 lbs overweight or for larger body types.
