Hooping with reflective, fluorescent, prismatic and glitter tapes really heightens the experience for you and anyone watching as light is reflected off the hoop in all directions. These are large adult hoops measured on the outside of the hoop.  Stand the hoop in front of you and measure from the floor to the top of the hoop.  The 38" hoop with a weight of 1.5 lbs, will take a bit more effort to maintain rotation but will give you a faster aerobic workout. Remember, you lose weight when you use oxygen, get your heart rate up, and burn calories. We have added a 40" 1.75 lb hoop that makes it easier to maintain rotation but doen't take up as much room as the regular size 42" hoop, and is a good alternative if you are unsure of what size is right for you.  The 42" hoop has a natural weight of 2.0 lbs and since it is larger and heavier it is a easier to rotate and might be better for beginners, if you are 20 to 30 lbs overweight or for larger body types.

Love, love, love my hoop! I am 5'6" , 155 lbs and 58 yrs old. I purchased the 40 inch hoop and had to wait for the weather to get nice because I do not have enough space in the house. It was amazingly easy for me. Even my grown children were able to use it right away. Now I wish I had a lighter hoop. When trying to hand hoop I bruised my hands. Wishing for a dance hoop now. Wonder what size would be right? Too bad there seem to be no hoola classes in vabeach. Its an addicting exercise

Well, I haven't hula hooped in years. I am going to be 60 this year and I astounded myself. It did not take many tries before I had it going. Seems to be a good product for the children at heart hula hoopers. I was sore in my core on first time using. That is good. Means it is beneficial exercise.

I love hooping! This was my first hoop and I never, ever want to stop hooping. I didn't think I would be good at it, however, so I didn't buy a dance hoop thinking I wouldn't be able to do tricks. The exercise hoop is heavy and stays up easily and I have become pretty good at keeping it up. Now I find that I wish I would have bought a lighter dance hoop because I want to do more than spin it around my waist. Until I can justify another purchase, I will just have to keep whacking myself in the head with this one.

On another note, if you find that you the type of person who is hard on things, you should probably stick to the non-decorative taped hoops. My tape was gashed minutes after I assembled the hoop and now it looks like it's a few months old instead of just a week.

My experience with Canyon Hoops was pleasant and I will be back for my vinyl-taped dance hoop some day soon... :P

I recently purchased a couple diff hoops and a dvd. Just wanted something fun to play with and get in shape at the same time. The quality is excellent, and they are tons of fun.
